The new Wiki – Searchwiki

Google always exceeds my expectations (so are my expectations low or is it Google?). This time it’s an addon for their current flagship product, the google search. Google has moved a step closer to ‘personalization’. They have adopted this famous saying – “What’s the boundary of space? It’s just one step ahead”. So now let’s talk about this new feature. As I type, a google search on ‘searchwiki’ gave 593,000 results.  (Results 110 of about 593,000 for searchwiki). So what I write here is nothing new, and this blog will feature somewhere in the 10th or 11th page. But searchwiki will help me (or even you for that matter) to bring my blog on top of the search. But here’s the catch, this would be only for the logged-in user (it means that I cannot promote my blog on google L) . To do so, look for the arrow button at the end of each search result. You can even write comments for the same. So the next time you seach the same key word under your login, the marked search will come up right at the first place.

So what’s my take on it? I see it as a child of social bookmarking and search. I call it “SeachMarking”.

Saturdays at Bansal’s

Since I we (that’s me n my flatmates) shifted to madras Chennai, never did we cook food at home. Well we did cook maggi and other RTC packs (or rather just poured the contents in boiling water), but that’s not cooking. So this Saturday, my friend (cum ex-classmate, colleague and roomie) Mr. Bansal (as one of my uncles fondly addresses him… but will tell that story later). So this Saturday Mr. Bansal decided to cook at home, partly motivated by the chole in the fridge from the night earlier, and partly to put his culinary skills at work. And my oh my… what delicious parathas he makes…. the 2nd best I ever had (1st place reserved for my mom u c….). Delicious ghee parathas, not at all for the weak hearted, but for the desi dil wale. We have even contemplated the thought of opening up a restaurant, where he’ll do the cooking, and i’ll wait the tables. But that’s more like a backup option, considering we both got jobs in financial sector, it’s better to diversify your risks. So who so ever wants to join in, send in ur resume and seed money….

Posting After Long time (PALT)

Posting after a long time. Actually a really long time….. the sensex has shed more than 23% points, india has sent a spacecraft to moon, a certain Mr. Obama has won the US elections, Indian auto companies have cut down salary, my company took us to QOS screening (hope they won’t cut our salary, HR ppl… hope u r reading … X-fingers crossed), India beat australia 2-0 in test cricket, Arsenal beat ManU 2-1, Vishy is now the world chess champion, more than 10,000 people lost their jobs in US, and even more companies went bankrupt.

enuf of the global gyan….  now turning the pointer to me… have been pretty busy with work and a certification exam… though… did get the time to visit pondicherry  and temple cities near thanjavur. nice place… do visit… it seems so that every town (small or big) has got a big temple for it… guess they were used as a commonplace for trade, socializing, politics and justice in olden times. Anyways, make sure to take a guide with you, the places are just carved stones without one.
gotta go rite now… got a lot to do… will keep posting
