Summers

Summers are here….
Well at our place (read hostel) it had arrived way ago. We first felt the heat when we cam here… but that subsided in weeks. But today as i type this note, my room is boiling at 35 degree centigrade . And it’s just past midnight…. gosh i fear for those who’d be running in and around Ahmedabad for their project. During the day, mercury touches 43-45 degrees. It’ like being in Sahara. The heat kind of reminds me of an Ad. This one was for Bajaj Wind bike. The ad showed a man wearing washed wet clothes and as he drives to his office his clothes get dried up. Our condition is no different. If we do so, our clothes will dry up in 2kms of travel. And why the heck do they have Black Helmets. Of all the colours, why only black? Its like some conspiracy against us. In the heat, the helmet gets so hot that you could even make an omelet on it.
And the worst part being rains. Its bloody raining in each and every corner of the country. And not even a single cloud in Ahmedabad. The low pressure has reduced to such a level,that the scientist in me predicts heavy showers in Ahmedabad this monsoon.-amen

MUNNABHAI – 4th best

Lage raho munnabhai a desi flick starring one of India’s most loved Actors.. Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi is undoubtedly in the list of hall of Bollywood comedies…. but then wot bout the rest of the world? where does it stand. Well if IMDB is anything to go by, then it’s the 4th best comedy ever…. on this planet…

Aunty’s

You realize one’s importance when you are away from him/her. After completing one year away from my home, i too felt the same. Everyone says that “my mom is the best cook”. But the realization comes only when you get to eat mess food for a year. I’ve been searching for a normal dining hall kind of place in ahmedabad where i could get food as good as my mom’s preparation. My search finally ended on small place near himalaya mall, gurukul. After that i’ve frequented that place ‘n’ number of times, but i yet don’t know its name. I’ve given a new name to that place.. and i call it “Aunty’s”. Coz the lady who runs the resturant is very nice, she treats the shops patrons like her children. And also the kind of rotis she makes..is something u get only at ur home….

Ctrl C + Ctrl V

By the time i finish writing this, 2,487 students across premier institutes of India have prepared a report/assignment by merely copying information off the net. I can’t vouch for the authenticity of the statistics, but i can certainly vouch for the phenomenon. And so can thousands of students worldwide. This has become a serious issue. Colleges and now even companies have started giving it a serious thought. But then why do students, or for that matter anyone else, do so? Well I’m no expert on this topic, but going by my experience I believe its due to the pressure to perform and also due to the “i don’t wanna do hardwork” attitude. Many term it smart work -do what you can’t find on the net.

Recently Yahoo came into news, because a third party content provider for its Malayalam website had simply copy pasted information (a recipe to be precise) from a malyali blog without even giving any credit to the author. Yahoo had to withdraw the article, but only after causing enough public outrage (only in blogosphere).

Writing afresh is not that difficult a task. Its just that some thinking and hard work goes into it. Lets not indulge into adamant copy paste, lets go for Ctrl+N instead.
